One Year Blogiversary!

Blogiversary

Well here it is, my one year blogiversary! This blog has now officially lasted longer than any of my relationships. Ha ha ha…wait, that wasn’t a joke. I haven’t posted nearly as much as I’d like, but for whatever reason, there’s people out there who actually read this stuff. So thank you to all you wonderfully loyal and curious readers. As much as I would’ve loved to do something fun and unique for this milestone in history, it creeped up on me and I was not prepared. Such is life.

Before I reached this landmark, there’s two things I really wanted to do: change my blog name and keep up on at least 3 posts per week. Well, I didn’t do either of those things, so it’s looking like the horrible blog name and the sporadic posts are here to stay for a while.

I also have not yet gotten around to writing my Mad Max: Fury Road or Pitch Perfect 2 reviews. But for the record, I loved Mad Max, it’s the first film of this year I’d give a perfect 5/5 to for being such a beautiful and pure action movie. Seriously, action fanatics such as myself can only pray for a movie like this once a year. Pitch Perfect 2 would probably get a 3 for being a lesser version of the first and for trying way too hard to be funny. Pitch Perfect 2 is like that one inappropriate person who’s always cracking the worst jokes at the party and you only laugh to be polite. Hopefully within the next few days I can find the time to actually write them up. In the meantime, if you’re ever curious, I keep a ranking of all the 2015 movies I’ve seen and I always keep it updated. You can find that here: http://boxd.it/lV1e

Anyway, I thought I’d take this time to share with everyone a list of blogs I’ve spent the past year reading, because let’s face it, I would’ve never lasted this long if it weren’t for the other people on this site. So treat this as a sort of blogger appreciation post, if you will. Some of them I’ve been reading from the beginning of my blogging adventures, and some I’ve only just discovered these past few months, but they’re all amazing. I know a lot of the movie blogging community is already pretty tight knit, but there’s always more popping up all over the place with writers who are incredibly talented and well-versed on their subjects. There’s also plenty that have been around longer than I have and I have yet to discover, but that’s another story. Seriously, if there’s anyone on this list you haven’t checked out yet, please do so.

Also, thanks again Emma, Sherise, The Vern, RobbinsRealm, Zoe and The Wolf of Starbucks for nominating me for a bunch of awards that I haven’t had the chance to pass on yet. If I forgot anyone, shit, I’m sorry!

Even if I’m not posting that often, just know I’m still reading your stuff all of the time. I’ve probably said this before, but a lot of you have become my go-to critics. Screw rotten tomatoes.

Thank you to everyone who continues to read my long ramblings. Stay classy, WordPress.
